The long way
out here

A roadside motel sign at night, lit against a dark sky.
Since twelve

Motels and missed exits

I have been fighting addiction since I was twelve years old. Multiple stints in rehab, more nights than I can count under a sign like this one, telling myself tomorrow was the day. The block, the parking lot, the room with two beds and no plan — that was the whole map for a long time.

I knew every way out of a room except the one that mattered.
A concrete outdoor stairway climbing out of frame.
The turn

I found the work instead

What finally moved me was not a speech, it was a routine. Fitness and exercise gave me somewhere to put the same energy that used to bury me. A regimen, a schedule, a body that started keeping promises. Five years sober and counting — built one boring, disciplined day at a time.

Discipline is the only high that never charged me interest.

The craft

Hip hop is the whole life

California is where the music stopped being an escape and became the record. Every conversation, every walk downtown, every mistake I owned up to goes in the notebook. Meaningful lyrics are not a style choice for me — they are the only way I know how to tell the truth about where I have been.

If a bar does not cost me something, it does not make the record.
A long interior hallway receding toward a doorway of light.
Now

Broker of my own street

Masters owned. Merch printed a mile from the studio. Rooms booked to talk to people who are where I was. Streetbroker was never just a name — it is how I do business: straight deal, no middleman, everything I sell I would wear myself.

I stopped waiting on a deal and became one.

Five years sober
and counting

Off the record I speak as P. Wilson — to recovery groups, treatment centers, gyms, and anybody who thinks the door is closed. Addiction since twelve, multiple stints in rehab, then a dedicated regimen of fitness and lifestyle change that gave me back my confidence and my head.

I do not believe fitness is only physical. It is the lever on your mindset and your whole well-being. If my story gets one person in recovery to try a healthier day, the talk paid for itself.
